Joe Pavelski (2-1—3) helped the San Jose Sharks get off on the right foot in a 7-0 win Tuesday by scoring 15 seconds into the first period of Game 4 to set a franchise record for fastest goal to start a playoff game, helping to even their First Round series against the Edmonton Oilers.

The Sharks' captain surpassed the mark previously set by Dany Heatley, which came 28 seconds into Game One of the 2011 Conference Quarterfinals against the Los Angeles Kings. The goal was Pavelski's first of the 2017 postseason.

"That was something we wanted to do, obviously, was get one early," teammate Logan Couture said to reporters of Pavelski's goal. "This is an intimidating building to play in, and it is even more when you've got a lead early. [Pavelski] made a great tip on that one, the building got into it, and we rode that momentum."

Pavelski's second goal was another slick tip-in from Brent Burns, which came on the power-play at 16:46 in the second period, for a 6-0 lead for the Sharks.

For his strong performance, Pavelski was named the game's second star of the night.

The series, now tied 2-2, moves to Edmonton next as the puck drops on Game 5 at Rogers Place.
