Concussion Protocol and Education

This Concussion Evaluation and Management Protocol sets forth the procedures that NHL Clubs shall follow regarding concussion education, testing, identification, evaluation, and management for the 2019-20 season.

The NHL and NHLPA collaborated to produce an educational video on concussions that is suitable for viewing by participants at all levels of the game.  This 13-minute video was produced by NHL Studios was created to help players, parents, coaches and team medical staff at all levels of hockey recognize the signs and symptoms of concussion and better understand how to proceed when a player is suspected to have suffered a concussion.
