The players actively support many initiatives that are important to them. Hockey Fights Cancer is a joint initiative by the NHL and the NHLPA, which has raised more than $18 million since 1998 to support national and local cancer research institutions, children’s hospitals, player charities, and local charities.

Smashfest is hosted by Dominic Moore and supported by the NHLPA, which has raised over $665,000 in six years for rare cancer and concussion research. Hockey is for Hockey is for Everyone - a joint initiative with the NHL – supports underrepresented and marginalized communities and works to ensure their safety and inclusion in the game.
