Collective Bargaining Agreement

The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the NHLPA and the NHL sets out the terms and conditions of employment for all professional hockey players playing in the National Hockey League, as well as the respective right of the NHL Clubs, the NHL, and the NHLPA.

The NHLPA and NHL ratified a four-year extension to the CBA (through 2025-26) and a Return to Play Plan, July 10, 2020. The terms of this deal are set forth in a detailed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The prior Agreement was ratified by NHLPA membership on January 12, 2013, concluding a four-month lockout by NHL owners.
