A new core memory was unlocked for J.T. Miller's daughter this weekend at Rogers Arena.
In a matchup between the Vancouver Canucks and the Calgary Flames, J.T. Miller scored an insurance goal late in the third to help the club to their third straight win while in pursuit of clinching a playoff position.
A thrilled home crowd erupted while the five-year-old looked in awe of the chants pouring down for her dad.
Miller, named to his first NHL All-Star Game earlier this season, has been having a standout 2023-24 campaign.
He reached a personal-best 34 goals scored in his 71st game of the season while reaching 90 points for the second time in his NHL career. His nine game-winning goals, also a career-high in a single season, rank second among teammates over 72 games played so far.
It’s no wonder the chants have only been getting louder for J.T. Meanwhile, his wife, Natalie, captured the wholesome moment as they took it all in.
“Yeah, it was pretty cool.” said Miller post practice the next day.
“My wife was telling me how special that was. She said she couldn't really believe what was going on. I never thought I’d be in a situation where that was possible. That was a special moment for her, for sure.”
It was only this past February when the Miller family landed in Toronto with J.T. being joined by his daughter on-ice during the Skills Competition, making the weekend even more memorable.
Taking on the big stage by Miller’s side, the five-year-old was seen repping her own minor hockey team jersey as she cheered on her biggest inspiration and personal hockey coach.
