Playoff Performer of the Night | Nathan MacKinnon

Nathan MacKinnon helped the Avalanche to a huge 5-3 win in Monday's Game 3 of Colorado's first-round series against the Nashville Predators.

MacKinnon posted the first multi-goal playoff game of his NHL career, earning both the game-winner and the game's first star with a pair of goals in Colorado's first win in two years against the Nashville Predators.

Widely considered to be in the running for the Hart Trophy as the "player judged most valuable to his team", the native of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, has a knack for scoring game-winning goals. Throughout the regular season, MacKinnon put away 12 to share the lead in the category with Brayden Point of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The victory that ended a 12-game losing streak (including regular and post-season) couldn't have come at a better time, as the Avs will look to even the 2-1 series on home ice before heading back to Music City.

"We've been good at home all season and it carried over to tonight, which is great," MacKinnon said postgame. "I thought we proved in the first two games that we can compete. We outplayed them a lot in Nashville.
