On December 19th at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (the site of old Maple Leaf Gardens), over 3,000 fans came together for the Centre’s first ever sold-out game to watch 39 NHL players hit the ice for the RBC Play Hockey Charity Challenge.

RBC Play Hockey Ambassadors – and team captains - Steven Stamkos and P.K. Subban led their teams of all-stars in an exciting game that gave both players and fans the opportunity to share their love of the game in a truly historic hockey setting.

In partnership with RBC Play Hockey, the NHLPA Goals and Dreams Fund raised $100,000 in support of grassroots hockey initiatives across Canada. Those grassroots hockey programs aim to provide equipment to young players who otherwise wouldn’t be able to experience the sport and help keep hockey vibrant in communities across the country.
