Smashfest

In almost every NHL dressing room you will find hockey players gathered around a ping-pong table. The agility, hand-eye coordination and athleticism needed to play ping-pong are all key ingredients to being a professional hockey player. Smashfest® Charity Ping-Pong Challenge was created by Dominic Moore in 2012, and with the help of the NHLPA, raises funds and awareness for two very complex issues in todays society by combining ping-pong with hockey and this one-of-a-kind party.

Each year at Smashfest®, 25+ current and former NHLPA members gather at Steam Whistle Brewing in Toronto to help raise funds for Concussion and Rare-Cancer research. Over the last 6 years, more than $650,000 has been donated to help two important causes that hit close to home for people from all walks of life.

The fan friendly event gives guests an opportunity to get up close to some of hockey’s brightest stars. Past participants include Logan Couture, Phil Kessel, Mitch Marner, Tyler Seguin, Jeff Skinner, Steven Stamkos, Doug Gilmour, Eric Lindros, and dozens of others.
