Jake Allen was a force to be reckoned with in his first performance of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Allen turned aside 51 of the 52 shots he faced from the Minnesota Wild before Joel Edmundson struck in overtime to ensure his teammate got the win in a 2-1 final.
If less really is more, teammate Vladimir Sobotka described the netminder's outing the best way possible.
"One word: amazing," said Sobotka, who scored the first goal of the game for the Blues. "A really good game."
It was a valuable win on the road for the Blues, who play in their second game of their Western Conference First Round matchup at Xcel Energy Center Friday.
