Then and now
Turco eventually entered the University of Michigan’s Hall of Honor in 2017. He had great success while helping the team to two championships (1996, 1998), winning Rookie of the Year (1995), Tournament MVP (1998), along with nominations to several All-Star teams. Turco also holds the University’s records in career wins (127), career shutouts (15), and wins in a single season (34 in 1995–96).
On January 15, 2009, Turco played his 421st game for the Dallas Stars to become the franchise's all-time leader in games played by a goaltender.
Since retirement, Turco has worked with the C5 Youth Foundation of Texas. Once called "the smartest goalie inthe NHL" by Canadian hockey personality Don Cherry, Turco has also served as an in-studio analyst for the NHL Network.
