It’s been a busy, but memorable NHL off-season for Antoine Roussel, including another cherished chance to play for his country on the world hockey stage.

While the Dallas Stars forward didn’t take all the spoils at a summer charity event in Toronto, there were plenty of other highlights for him to speak of.

From concerts to family time to suiting up for France at the IIHF World Championship, Roussel presents his top off-season moments to NHLPA.com.

Antoine Roussel's Top 5 Off-Season Moments

1. HOME, SWEET HOME

“I was in France after the World Championships (Germany and France were the host countries) and stayed there for awhile. It’s always great to get back and see family and friends, and all those familiar places. It’s just nice to be able to hang out with your family and have some fun.”

2. FAMILY TIME

“The summer can go by so fast, so you want to spend as much time with your family. I really enjoy spending time with my kid, so that was the main focus of the summer for me.

3. REPRESENTING MY COUNTRY (AGAIN)

“When I was a kid, I always hoped that I could play hockey for France one day. And to be able to do that, to see that come dream come true, was a very big moment for me. I would love to see the game continue to grow in France and see other players get that same opportunity.”

4. SMASH HIT?

“I love coming to Smashfest to play some ping-pong and hang out with the guys. I wasn’t sure if I’d be any good when it came to playing, but I was really excited to be back here and take part in it again.”

5. MUSIC TO HIS EARS

“I went to a couple of really good concerts, including Ed Sheeran. It was a fun time. It was a great show and his music is excellent.”
