Raises Funds for Concussion & Rare Cancer Research

TORONTO (July 21, 2016) – The National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) and NHL player Dominic Moore are pleased to announce that more than 20 current and former NHL players will attend year five of Smashfest® tonight in Toronto. New additions to the event are Toronto Blue Jays catchers Russell Martin and Josh Thole.

Scheduled to participate in Smashfest® this year are the following current and former players: Dominic Moore (Host), Nathan Beaulieu, Sam Bennett, Derick Brassard, Alex Burrows (two-time defending Pro-Am Champion), Ben Chiarot, Patrick Eaves (defending Player Champion), Aaron Ekblad, Adam Graves, Mike Johnson, Chris Kreider, Nick Kypreos, Eric Lindros, Mitch Marner, Steve Moore, Darnell Nurse, Zac Rinaldo, Antoine Roussel, Wayne Simmonds, Jeff Skinner, Cam Talbot and Chris Tanev.

Smashfest® is a charitable ping-pong event where guests party with NHL players and have the opportunity to square off with and against them in the Smashfest Pro-Am Doubles Tournament. This is followed by a singles bracket which crowns the Smashfest NHL Player Champion. Held at Steam Whistle Brewery, the event also provides beverages throughout the evening and catered buffet for all guests, who also have the opportunity to bid on one-of-kind silent and live auction items.
