Amid the Pittsburgh Penguins’ recent four-game winning streak, NHLPA.com Player of the Week Conor Sheary stood tall for his team, raking in six goals and nine points.

Sheary kicked off three multi-point performances playing the hero in a dramatic 8-7 win over the Washington Capitals Monday. His second goal of the night was his third point, and the game-winner, at just :34 seconds into overtime.

The five-foot-eight winger was named second star of the game while picking up an assist on the road in Wednesday’s 4-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens.

The Massachusetts native proceeded to have another two-goal night, including a tally from an incredible behind-the-back feed from linemate Sidney Crosby in a decisive 7-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

It was back to Pittsburgh to wrap up the week against Sheary’s hometown Boston Bruins. His two goals and an assist earned him the game’s first honour in the 5-1 Penguins victory. In his young career, Sheary has fared well against the Bruins, having posted seven points against them so far.

Sheary’s six goals and nine points both topped the NHL this week. Since playing his way into a regular spot in the Penguins’ lineup last season, he is quickly proving he belongs alongside one of the game’s best.
