The National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) has had the privilege to connect fans and players with programs that have touched lives all over the world. Below is a selection of initiatives that may have concluded but remain important to our members.
Hockey for Haiti
The NHLPA, NHL veteran and Haitian-Canadian Georges Laraque, and World Vision Canada teamed up for Hockey for Haiti, which raised over $1 million to help rebuild Grace Children’s Hospital after the country’s devastating 2010 earthquake.
10 in 10
In 2009, the 10th anniversary of the NHLPA Goals & Dreams fund was commemorated in a 10-day, 10-country celebration of grassroots hockey programs around the world.
