Need to Know:
A former Hobey Baker Memorial Award winner, and the most dominant keeper to ever suit up for Michigan State University, hockey fans in his home state will tell you it was only a matter of time before Ryan Miller made his mark in the NHL. After a record-breaking season with Rochester of the AHL in 2004-05 - during which he became the league’s first 40-game winner in 40 years - Ryan joined the Sabres full-time in 2005-06 and formed one of the league’s top goalie tandems alongside Martin Biron. Ryan is a native of East Lansing, MI, and yes, is a cousin of NHL vets Kip, Kevin and Kelly Miller. His tall and lanky frame fits his game perfectly, and his acrobatics are well documented in the highlight reels. He has become the backbone of the Sabres club and his talent and commitment to the club will undoubtedly see the Sabres making noise in the Eastern Conference for the foreseeable future.

Recently:
Ryan signed a five-year contract extension with the Sabres last week, a deal worth $31.25 million. The new deal will see Miller between the pipes for the Sabres until the 2013-14 season.

Did You Know:
Ryan has a business away from hockey with his dad, a clothing store called The Refinery in his hometown of East Lansing, Michigan.
