The National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) and NHL veteran Georges Laraques have partnered with World Vision in an effort to assist the people of Haiti in the wake of the devastating earthquake on January 12. The partnership will raise funds for the people of Haiti through the Hockey for Haiti project. The NHLPA Goals & Dreams’ initially donated $100,000 to Hockey for Haiti.
The NHLPA is also conducting an online auction of donated memorabilia in support of Hockey for Haiti’s three primary causes:

Helping to build and support a health clinic in one or more of World Vision’s Area Development Programs; and/or
-
Helping to restore the damage to the Grace Children’s Hospital; and/or
-
Contributing to World Vision’s short term Haiti emergency relief efforts and long-term development work
The auction features memorabilia from the NHLPA and its players. Items in the auction include Winter Classic jerseys worn by Pavel Datsyuk, Chris Pronger, and Patrick Kane and authentic jerseys autographed by Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, and numerous other stars. Additionally, used sticks from Mike Cammalleri, Steven Stamkos, and Andrei Markov are available via the auction. More fantastic items from players around the NHL will be added each week.
